Sekirei Episode 02

Sekirei Episode 02: “Feather 02: Doors of a New House.”

Summary: The first episode ended with Musubi flying Minato into the sky to lift his spirits. Apparently, she doesn’t know how to land and they end up crashing into a tree that breaks their fall. Minato sees a strange spirit-like girl reaching up to catch them as their falling but this is put aside when the owner of the house (and tree) comes out and sees them injured.

Miyu is the owner of the house, which is actually a large traditional-style mansion. She rents out the many rooms to anyone who is looking for a place, and this is how Minato and Musubi end up living there with the other two tenants, Uzume and Kagari. Uzume is another large chested girl who comes down to dinner in frilly lingerie and is a Sekirei without an ashakabi.

Minato goes to look at the tree that caught them and sees a girl asking to be saved. He has a dream about her again and finds out her name is Kusano. Behind the scenes, it becomes apparent that Kagari is Homura, a ninja guardian who is working for someone. There has also been a large overgrowth at the botanical guardians, where Kusano is trapped and scared. Someone also texted some guy at a construction site about going there to become Kusano’s ashakabi.

We also see a beaten down sekirei on a park bench approached by a guy in a school uniform who wants to take her for his collection. Minato’s little sister also makes an appearance.

Thoughts:It was hard to summarize this episode because, like the first episode, there’s a main plot and small strings of beginnings to other plots floating around. You have the main plot of Minato and Musubi moving into the Izumo house and Kusano’s situation. In the background you have Homura-ninja wandering around taking phone calls and being mysterious, some weird dude ‘collecting’ sekirei, and there was also a brief glimpse of some girl watching a ton of monitors (who is one of the sekirei from the opening), and the other girl from the opening have a skirmish with Homura. It’s ridiculous, and makes me wonder if they can really wrap this up in 12 episodes.
There was also more clothes tearing and nudity. :p
