Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu Episode 04
Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu Episode 04 “Is it Weird?”

Summary: Haruka, Yuuto, Mika, and Nanami are all following Hazuki around town on her day off. Haruka and the rest have become concerned due to Hazuki’s recent change in personality, and that she seems more depressed. They think she might be concerned with a boyfriend, and so they follow her. Mika and Nanami end up getting separated when they go into a lingerie store and decide to stay and go shopping. Yuuto also bumps into the same girl he ran into in the Akihabara episode.
After following Hazuki around, they see her meet a man and enter what looks to be a bridal shop. Haruka and Yuuto end up whisked in when they’re mistaken for a couple with an appointment for pictures. The staff gets them all dressed up and takes a picture before they realize the mistake. Upon leaving, Haruka is quite convinced that Hazuki is getting married and will be leaving her job where she has been more like a mother to Haruka and Mika than their own. When they meet Hazuki at home and ask her, she says she was really upstairs buying a new chain for her chainsaw and that what has been bothering her isn’t very significant. We don’t find out what has been affecting her mood or if it’s implied that it was all just over the broken chainsaw.
Thoughts: I think I may have grinned no less than three times while watching this episode. This is the only anime I’m blogging about right now that makes me feel good when I watch it. Some might say that it makes me simple minded, but I don’t care. This show is cute, funny, and never too heavy or too raunchy. Haruka cosplayed as Shana from Shakugan no Shana in this episode, and quoted her trademark line “Urusai! Urusai! Urusai!” Mika spent a lot of time in the dressing room toying with the idea of being scandalous. It might, to some degree, be loli-pandering, but someone tell me that in the safety of their own rooms, 14 year olds don’t toy with the idea of being attractive. I did, when I was that age, secretly. Anyway, I loved this episode even if it wasn’t as awesome as episode 03.
