Telepathy Shoujo Ran Episode 06 “Ran, Going to the Haunted Hot Springs. ~The Riddle of the Ghost Inn~”

Summary: Ran, Rui, Midori, and Rin go to spend the weekend at a supposedly haunted inn. Rin is particularly interested in haunted places, which is good enough for Midori despite that she doesn’t believe in ghosts at all. The inn, however, has fallen on some trouble. The landlady is not pleased that those looking to be scared have become the main patrons. She’s looking to sell the inn to a wealthy businessman, who is a close friend to a recently deceased patron. The patron died of a heart attack on the grounds of the inn.

The landlady’s son is manager of the inn, and has himself witnessed a ghost. He deceased father told him that a girl named Isozaki Ran would save the inn when he was on his deathbed three years ago. Ran and Midori go and investigate the women’s bath where ghostly laughter is often heard, while the men go back into a hallway where the Manager witnessed a ghost. Rui finds it interesting that the Manager managed (HA!) to find a coin on the ground near the ice vending machine in the dark. They then see a white figure move around the room and knock down one of the statues.

Ran and Midori discover a shed inside the bath that has another door leading out the garden. Midori is pretty sure someone had been hiding in there and laughing to create the ghostly sounds. While they’re discussing this they see a ghost. It’s an old man with a ukulele, along with a man in a white shirt and slacks.

Thoughts: My only thoughts right now is that their teacher better not be behind this one TOO. After the last arc, it would start to seem pretty cliche if she was the secret antagonist to everything. Otherwise the mystery is pretty interesting, even if it’s not very dark or scary, despite being in a haunted inn.
